- Gathering software requirements and the change requirements from service tool engineers, field test engineers, feature owners, control software teams, electronic tools teams and other stakeholders.
- Based on the requirements perform analysis on the existing software and make necessary changes to the same.
- Develop and implement the FTIS (Feature Tool Interface Specification) / TIS (Tool Interface Specifications) for engine software.
- Raise change requests to integrate newly implemented/modified tool interfaces in the engine software build.
- Validate newly added engine software changes as per the requirement using Open loop bench and Calterm (Cummins Proprietary tool).
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis in case of any issue identified during the validation steps.
- Raise a change request to the appropriate team through configuration management and change management tools like Windchill RV&S and IBM Rational ClearQuest for issue resolution within defined schedule.
- Document all the artifacts including the requirements, implementation methods/steps, validation results and issues description.
- Coordinate with different cross functional teams like service tool teams, field service engineers, feature owners, software team etc. to understand the software requirements for different engine platforms like light duty, medium duty and heavy duty.
- Perform Engineering Standard Work (ESW) testing on calibration files using Cummins proprietary tools like Luis Gen2 Loadbox, CMT_ETI, Calterm, RDE, INSITE and OTIS Test tools.
- Perform maintenance of TIS parameters for various software builds by coordinating with different control teams.
- Work with the appropriate stakeholders to get the tools updated to support new or existing product ids. Work with the Change Control board (CCB) to get the necessary changes approved by emphasizing the need of the change.
- Work with multiple stakeholders to identify the software and tool release schedule. Translate these schedules to the multiple development teams and get the tools done within the specified timelines to ensure the on-time delivery of the intended changes.
- Identify any roadblocks during the implementation phase and get them resolved with multiple discussions with the necessary stakeholders. If the roadblocks cannot be resolved within the specified timeline, work with the feature requesters to get the extension on the schedule to incorporate the solution for the roadblocks.
