PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT - R&D: Solution architect

• Begin as a solutions architect responsible for designing and implementing control system architectures that meet the customer/client requirements.
• The role starts with gathering the requirements, understanding the specifications, evaluating the systems that are in place, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver the right solution for Metro applications.
• Define the development strategy for control system in line with the overall development plan.
• Design the architecture of the system, including hardware, software, and networks.
• Managed and motivated employees to be productive and engaged in work.
• Accomplished multiple tasks within established timeframes.
• Prioritizing technical implementation depending on customer demand and objectives.
• Monitor the projects and keep stakeholders updated on the progress.
• Ensuring compliance, that the solution meets industry regulations, and works with other systems and platforms.
• Define standards/guidelines for the implementation of the solution into projects.
• Design optimization practices for control systems hardware/software.
• Ensure design for quality by adopting quality gates in the development stage.
• Identify and provide a competitive solution for all Indian market non-compliant (NC) clauses.
• Initiate a new development program to mitigate non-compliant clauses and ensure it has been implemented in ongoing projects and upcoming tenders to go with a fully compliant solution.
• Leading India Competitive Solution (ICS) program under which solutions are being developed for troubleshooting directory (TSD), rolling stock/train-HMI at train depot/train operation control center, video analytics (for camera tampering, empty train detection, clear door detection, evacuation passenger counting, etc.)
• Contributing in developing a region-specific reference solution (RefSol), mainly for the Urban platform.
• Actively participating in SIL2 deployment in Delhi Metro p4, and Chennai Metro p2 project.
• Streamlined workflows by identifying bottlenecks in existing systems and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Maximized performance by monitoring daily activities and mentoring team members.

TENDERS/BIDS: Pre-Engineering

• Study the customer tender documents of Metro, Suburban, and Mainline projects.
• Formulating a design solution that fulfills the specified customer requirements by defining the architecture and performances of the TC&IS subsystems and functional studies, and responsible for maximizing the re-use of service-proven design patterns.
• Create a gap list with respect to the existing reference project.
• Develop the Control System architecture for Train control and Information System.
• Build a competitive QCD commitments for TC&IS, which are required to execute the project.
• Define the mitigation plan for non-compliant clauses and risk.
• Align and confirm TC&IS DFQ planning in line with train level DFQ planning.
• Create a technical proposal to submit to the customer.
• Conduct Tender design review and identify the potential risk with a proper mitigation plan.
• Present a detailed technical proposal of the Train Control and Information system to the Customer.

• Creating technical specifications for Industrial assembly, process and test equipment's/lines
• Industrial cost estimation for assembly, process and test equipments/lines
• Selection of control system architecture for assembly lines and test equipments (PLC, HMI, Servo PC selection)
• Standardization of solutions for Assembly and test equipments
• Meet the cost and delivery requirements of Global supply chain as per the commitment
• Regular interaction with the plant to meet their requirement
• Actively participate in Machine qualification plan
• Control system design validation and approval to the supplier
• Implementing innovative ideas to resolve issues arises during line realization and to improve production efficiency without compromising in quality
• Design and Development of project templates for PLCs and HMIs
• Editing and modifying the PLC, HMI program to meet the plant requirement
• Establishing the different types of industrial communication protocols like TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Modbus, CAN Open etc
• Propose new ideas to improve quality, Delivery and cost-effective solution

• Being a member of Project Execution I was Responsible for preparing of detailed Estimation, Proposals and concepts for Control systems (Electrical engineering services) based on customer RFQ
• Planning, Organizing & Prioritizing the control system activities & preparing schedule for the project which includes customer interaction, kickoff meetings and technical discussions
• Study the customer requirement & collect the design data
• Selection of Control systems as per the customer requirement
• Technical discussion with the cross functional teams and with the Customer
• Designing of Electrical Hardware (E-Plan/AutoCAD)
• Interaction with mechanical teams during design stage
• Get design approvals from the customer
• Providing technical support & Coordinate with assembly teams during the development phases
• PLC, HMI, CNC and Robot programming for different makes (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Schneider, Bosch, Fanuc)
• Actively involve in internal & customer Trials
• Conducting pre-commissioning in-house tests
• Playing active role in machine manual preparation
• Machine installation and Commissioning support
• Develop prototypes for different applications like welding, Metal forming etc
• Maintaining control system related ISO documents
• Actively participate in ISO audits
