Modelling and Analysis of a PFC Based Cuk-SEPIC Converter for Electrical Vehicles

  • This project presented an isolated bridgeless (BL) Cuk-SEPIC converter for a mono-stage electric vehicles (EV) battery charger. The suggested charger's design ensures fundamental power factor correction ac mains in discontinuous conduction mode. When employed for positive and negative cycles, the suggested architecture performs more effectively while using less components than the BL Cuk converter design. The merging of the CUK and SEPIC converter throughout each individual half cycle is to responsible for this. In comparison to the SEPIC converter utilized for both cycles, the output current is also smoothed by the inclusion of an output inductor at the Cuk converter side.,

Four Quadrant Operation Motor Using Dual Converter, use for controlling speed and direction of DC motor

2020

  • The project focuses on developing a four-quadrant control system for a DC motor, allowing operation in clockwise, counter-clockwise, forward braking, and reverse braking modes. This system is ideal for industrial applications requiring precise motor control, including immediate braking in both directions. Instantaneous braking is achieved by briefly applying reverse voltage to the motor. The system utilizes a 555 timer to generate the required pulses and employs switches interfaced with an H-bridge circuit to control motor operation effectively.

Smart Street Light

2019

  • The project aims to optimize energy consumption on highways by detecting vehicle movement and managing streetlight operation. It activates only the block of streetlights ahead of an approaching vehicle while turning off or dimming trailing lights. When no vehicles are present, all lights remain off or at 10% intensity, depending on the mode. As a vehicle approaches, the lights ahead switch to full brightness (100%), and the trailing lights revert to 10% intensity after the vehicle passes. This system significantly reduces energy waste compared to traditional highway lighting, where all lights, remain fully on throughout the night.
