DRP: Roadmap for the Development of Sustainable Finance for HDBRTS Operations

The project aims to assess the potential Source of non-farebox revenue to support cost and develop innovative finance mechanisms for the BRTS operations in Hubli- Dharwad. This DRP will collect data, develop case studies, and estimate the potential of non-farebox revenue to support the cost of city bus operations with desired levels of service quality. This project will document the possibility of non-fare box revenue and propose innovative finance mechanisms for bus operations in Hubli-Dharwad; the research shall outline a roadmap for developing sustainable finances for HDBRTS operations.

Detailed Feasibility Study Studio

The main aim was to understand the detailed process of preparing a feasibility report for a Multi-Modal Logistics Park for Ahmedabad through this studio. The project was initiated and carried through the perspective of the consultant. The project was started by reviewing various global case studies understanding the functionalities of MMLP and the operations. Developing on this, the approach for the given task was decided. Parameters such as commodity assessment the market assessment were done. Further, freight models were created, and financial and economic analyses were done to assess the Feasibility was carried out.

Strategic Plan for Urban Transport System

The studio aims to understand preparing a strategic transportation plan for a city, taking the case of Ahmedabad. The Studio of Strategic Urban Transport Plan for Ahmedabad began with a review of transportation plan documents and various policies that aided in the execution of transportation plans. The comprehensive Study covers geographic connectivity, the city’s economic history, demography, transit connectivity and network, and numerous primary surveys such as land use, household, economy, public transportation, and IPT surveys. Secondary data was collected from institutional and governmental bodies. Based on the current situation analysis, various strategies and goals were framed to upgrade the transportation system of Ahmedabad city, and proposals were made to support the same.

Understanding the City Studio

Through the studio “Understanding the City”, the city of Delhi was analysed through different lenses. The 1 Sq.km. The study area, Dwarka Mor, is located in southwest Delhi. The site is connected to the remaining parts of the city as a significant ring road pass through the neighbourhood, which is a sub arterial road to the town. The study looked at the different aspects that make the precinct desirable by looking at the built characteristics, the people and their jobs and finally, the public spaces.
