  • Major Responsibilities:
  • - Strategy planning and implementing annual goals of operations team
  • - Overseeing and Managing $10 Million budget, finance, and accounts, Admin., statutory and legal compliances related to India regulatory authorities

  • - Supported growth of WRI India offices as it expanded in size- from team of 150 supported by $ 4 million budget, to over 300 plus personnel delivering $ 10 million budget in FY 2022

  • - Developed core operations function by setting up an team that currently supports five program verticals in India and across other countries

Major Responsibilities:

- Managing the Accounts, Finance, statutory compliances, and office administration

- Preparing annual budget and getting the approval from the board, monitoring budget utilization by the Programme and generating monthly cash flow and fund management

- Due diligence of partner organizations during the selection phase and releasing funds to the partners based on the utilization statement and achievement of milestones

- Audits, Income Tax assessment and FCRA returns and managing donor audits

- Creating monthly and quarterly financial statements for CEO and Trustee

- Updating the Trustees and other details in the Charity Commissioner office and FCRA Department

- Training and capacity building of the staff and partner organizations- - Vetting MoU’s, Agreements and contracts and analyzing financial and legal risk

- Oversee the procurements, facilities, and assets of the organization

- Investment of funds in the short term and long-term securities

Key Achievements:

- Supported Finance and accounts team of Partner Organizations in building capacity related to budget, statutory compliances, policies, processes and managing FCRA grants.

- Supported 3 partner organizations to construct new Eye Hospitals from scratch i.e purchase of land till the inauguration of the Hospital. Which included strategic support, funding, fundraising and regular guidance. The average cost of each Hospital was around INR 8 Crores

- Successfully completed due diligence of four CSR donors in getting INR 2 Crores per year and implemented monthly reporting format, which required financial and activity report on monthly basis with shorter deadline

- Independently completed 3 years income tax assessment scrutiny with nil recovery

-Support for the 12A registration process, which was rejected by the Income Tax department three times in a row. Stating that it is a commercial entity. (12A is a tax exemption certificate in India)

-Successfully registered the entity under the FCRA Act to get foreign donations.

-Created an financial model by which cost of supporting per social entrepreneur was tracked at three levels and this model was used for fund raising purpose
