Description:

FarmRise is an agriculture application supported in 6 different languages which helps smallholder farmers by providing a one-stop solution to get more yields. It provides weather info, commodity prices around his location, agronomy advisory by professional agri-experts for the crops, agri-news, events across India, govt. schemes for farming, articles written by best farming practitioners and experts, ability to socialize with fellow farmers using chat, partner collaboration and has a referral program.

Being an android app as the face of the product, it has its backend built on springboot with microservice architecture and the platform on golang deployed on AWS.

Responsibilities:

• Managing a team of 10, overseeing hiring, engineering, and professional growth of employees.
• Collaborate with Product team for engineering scope and task prioritization.
• Used critical thinking to break down problems, evaluate solutions and make decisions.
• Proved successful working within tight deadlines and fast-paced atmosphere.

Project: FarmRise

• Evaluated ongoing development efforts, providing feedback on potential methods of expediting completion and improving final results.
• Provided regular feedback to both junior engineers and senior leadership on individual performance metrics and observations.
• Coordinated and collaborated between engineering, product and UX personnel to create holistically designed final products.
• Drove high-level strategic planning of development efforts across multiple features to optimize resource utilization and shorten development times.
• Closely collaborated with project members to identify and quickly address problems.
• Enforced alignment of project strategy with business objectives and made modifications to promote efficient project completion.

• Performed code reviews to maintain best code quality.
• Introduced patterns (MVP, MVVM) and unit testing to improve stability of the application.
• Involved in data model and architecture designing of microservices.
• Involved in scaling the Infrastructure and analyzing Infra level solutions.
• Worked closely with product managers and UI specialists to create best UX of the application.
• Created architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, flow charts and implementation documents of the solution designs.
• Involved in providing ideas to the product team to implement new features from a business point of view.

Project: FarmRise

• Worked on client project called FarmRise.
• Built the FarmRise android application from scratch.
• Involved in design, development, deployment of the application.
• Worked independently on evaluating Mobile application frameworks in multiple platforms like Cordova, Oracle MAF, Salesforce Mobile SDK.
• Developed individual modules that can be used as libraries in applications.

• Yo! Wake Up!, El Gifto, Roadbrake, Allergy Journal, Yakety Yak, Big Company Data.

Responsibilities:

• Designed, Developed and Delivered Multiple Android Native and Hybrid applications and Publishing apps to Play store.
• Integrated Social Media login (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus).
• Used LocationManager, MediaPlayer and MediaRecorder services.
• Implemented AlarmManager with BroadcastReceiver for alarms.
• Expertise in REST web services using volley, FCM, Google Maps API.
• Used SQLite3 to perform local database operations.
• Redesigning new versions of the app using Xamarin and Ionic
