- RESPONSIBILITIES: Presently also accountable for acting as a senior melter for managing production of steel through electric arc furnace also set planning coordinating with LF and CASTER. Maintain the furnace condition by doing gunning and fettling as and when required. Coordinate with safety, housekeeping, mechanical, electrical and refractory department during shutdowns. Lead the efforts for optimising the use of the facilities throughout the work period ensuring continuity between shifts. Communicating all the service related items with the respective departments. Entrusted with following key activities mentioned below:
- Improvement of furnace condition by following standard operating practice.
- Improve the yield of the furnaces by practicing sealed slag door operation.
- Modification on the use of modular lance for injecting oxygen into furnace.
- Economise the whole process by using less power consumption i.e. low KWH/Ton of steel produced.
- Involved in hot metal usage projects and successfully using hot metal in ARC FURNACE.
- Tapping of heat in time and as per grade requirement.
- Melting of SCRAP, HBI, and HOT DRI, COLD DRI, GRANSHOT, and BURNT DRI/HBI, with smooth operation.
- Use of FES pallets in the furnace to reduce oxygen consumption and increasing the yield.
- Good housekeeping maintain in the furnace.
