Academic Projects

"Dynamics of Egypt: Analysing Unemployment, Inflation and Policy Effectiveness"

February 2025 - March 2025

  • Analyzed inflation and unemployment trends in Egypt to derive the Phillips Curve.
  • Assessed its validity using Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient and Regression Analysis.
  • Identified inefficiencies in the Phillips Curve based on empirical data. Investigated the monetary and fiscal policies implemented to improve Egypt’s economic conditions.
  • Conculded that there was a very weak negative correlation between inflation and unemployment in Egypt, due to external factors such as the 2008 Financial Crisis, 2012-13 Political Instability and Devalaution of the Egyptian Pound in 2016.

"Should the government pay the cost of pollution?"

October 2024 - November 2024

  • Dealt with negative externalities and market failures, including pollution and the provision of public goods.
  • Assessed various policy instruments, including carbon taxes, subsidies, and cap-and-trade systems, elucidating how they operate and what challenges they present.
  • Evaluated case studies, such as the Clean Air Act (USA) and congestion pricing in Singapore to highlight examples of market-based interventions.
  • Analyzed the trade-offs between efficiency and equity in government responses to externalities.

"Inflation Dynamics and GDP Analysis: A Comparative Study of India and Palau"

August 2024 - October 2024

  • A comparative analysis was prepared on the inflationary trends of India's and Palau's CPI and GDP deflator data to evaluate macroeconomic stability and inflation trends during significant economic events, such as India's liberalisation in 1991, the 2008 financial crisis, and the post-pandemic reflation period.
  • Evaluated Palau's dependence on tourism, foreign aid, and imports, identifying specific vulnerabilities related to inflation and economic stability.
  • Additionally, I applied data analysis and macroeconomic modelling to compare the inflationary impacts of sector-specific versus broad-based approaches.
  • Results of the study indicated that the CPI inflation rate was higher than GDP Deflator in Palau due to its dependence on imported goods. The GDP deflator showed less price volatility as it includes all domestically produced goods and services compared to the CPI, which directly reflects consumer prices and the cost of living.

"Analyzing Firm Size and Cost Efficiency in the Asian Automobile Industry"

April 2023 - May 2023

  • Analyzed using regression analysis, the impact of firm size on cost efficiency in the Asian automobile industry.
  • The pooled regression technique was applied with statistical analysis to determine how financial factors (DFL, DOL, liquidity ratio, firm size) affected profitability.
  • Larger firms experience more benefits from economies of scale in that production expenses are decreased and consequently, profits increase.
  • Compared findings with prior research and identified data limitations, suggesting improvements for future studies.
  • The study revealed a positive relationship between firm size and cost efficiency in the Asian Automobile Industry

"Consumer Behaviour, Vegan Market Analysis and its Environmental Impact"

February 2023- March 2023

  • Conducted survey-based research to check for the willingness to pay for vegan meals and accept environmental trade-offs.
  • Performed simple linear regression, F- Tests and T-Tests to analyse relationships between age and consumer preferences.
  • Examined Google Trends and Euromonitor data on vegetarian market growth across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, India and the United States.
  • The study concluded that even though environmental concerns influence consumer behavior, factors like price, accessibility and cultural. preferences play a larger role in determining the demand for vegan meals across different countries.
