Responsibilities encompass the overall supervision of engine room operations, ensuring the efficient functioning of machinery and propulsion systems. Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and lead the engine room watch to maintain continuous vessel operation. Respond promptly to emergency situations, implementing contingency plans to ensure the safety of the vessel. Accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities, fuel consumption, and machinery performance. Additionally, prioritize environmental compliance, enforce safety protocols, and contribute to the training and development of junior engineering staff.
