Project Detail [Morgan Stanley :Settlements] -

• Settlements system manages settlements of all trade(cash/security) between client and it's customers/other entities.

High level Flow -

• Settlement gets input from many of the upstream systems , we fill those trades with required details, match those trades and settles them.

Roles & Responsibilities as team member(Team size 6) -

• Perform task in development, maintenance or production support(L3) as required .
• As developer,we work with the operation/client to get the complete requirement .We actively listen to the requests, confirming full understanding before addressing any concern .
• Once full requirement is established, we design,develop, test (unit and regression) and review the code changes requested. Next we aid the ops with the User acceptance testing (UAT) . Once operation and client are happy with the result, we deploy the changes into production and monitor/verify them to ensure successful deployment .
• As a team member, I am a good team player . I help out other members when necessary, maintain good communication and swift with my actions .
• Practicing Agile methodology, We encourage discussing status and challenges in our scrum call and plan together to address them .
• Apart form day to day work , I have acted as SPOC and active participants for various organizational and team building initiatives.

Tools used for achieving day to day task -

• Z/OS for managing and interacting with Jobs and Programs
• GUI for managing and interacting with Trades and settlements related functionality
• Putty for tracking trade flow in upstream system
• IntelliJ IDEA,GIT Bash , GIT GUI , StashGreen ,Leela for managing client's communication rules with other banks
• Jira as Management tool for managing Stories and Sprint progress

Languages used for performing day to day tasks -

• Natural as programming language
• JCL to control Jobs/Processes
• Basic Java for managing rules in IntelliJ

Areas of expertise as developer -

• Proficient in backend end tool - Job and New Program creation ,Debugging ,Job configuration, Deployment and Decommission .
• Proficient in MS word ,Ms excel and Ms Powerpoint for data analysis, data comparison, documentation and presentation work .
• Proficient in various testing procedures - Unit , Regression , Volume and UAT
• Proficient in front end tool - GUI to manage and interact with trades
• Familiarity with FTP Maintenance and concepts
• Familiarity with Swift Instructions maintenance and concepts
• Familiarity with Netting flow creation ,maintenance and concepts

Project Achievements -

• Have received several appraisals from Clients and operation for my support and defect free delivery and smooth execution of challenging tasks .
• Have received acknowledgement and appraisals from Project for value addition and for team coordination as SPOC in organizational initiative .
