RESEARCH INTEREST

My research interest lie primarily in the area of modelling, simulation, fabrication and testing of 2D and 3D antennas, Optical antennas, Frequency selective surface, Terahertz absorber and filters, Flexible electronics, High power semiconductor devices, Composites, novel materials, Diatoms, MEMS, soft lithography and microfluidics.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

  • Design of Dual Band Gap Coupled Hexagonal Ring Antenna
  • Used MoM based IE3D platform for designing microstrip Hexagonal Ring antenna loaded with horizontal and vertical gaps for dual mode operation.
  • Formulated design equations and carried out simulations for detailed analysis of parametric variations.
  • SAW Patch Antenna for Radio Frequency Identification Tagging Systems
  • Passive Surface Acoustic Wave Transponder based RFID Tagging System operational in ISM band was designed and analyzed using IE3D simulator.
  • Micro fabrication of the device was achieved on Quartz substrate and was subsequently tested using Vector Spectrum Analyzer, radiation characteristics like radiation pattern and S parameter were analyzed.
  • Design and Fabrication of Three-Dimensional Lens Antenna using Micro-stereolithography process
  • A high directive electrically small three-dimensional lens antenna was designed for Ka band frequency node
  • The designed antenna was fabricated using rapid prototype process of micro-stereolithography and subsequently tested and compared with a rectangular patch antenna of same footprint
  • Meta material - Antenna array Platform for Explosive Detection
  • Designed metamaterial and staircase antenna array system operating at same frequency
  • Demonstrated proof of concept relating TNT detection using FEM based HFSS simulator
  • Compact Reflective Phase Shifter
  • Designed and modelled ultra-wide bandwidth diode-less elliptical reflective phase shifter using CST microwave Studio platform
  • Comparative analysis of elliptical phase shifter with that of a semi-elliptical phase shifter was carried out for enhanced bandwidth and compact device
