- I have operated the billet saw and some of the duties are: banding finished logs and bringing them out to the yard, cutting billets to the customer's choice of length, and recording all information into the database. I have charged the furnaces with scrap metal using loaders, telehandlers, and fork trucks. I have casted logs in the casting area by pouring molten metal into molds. I know how to start and end a cast and I know how to be prepared if something should go wrong. I have now been a lead for A shift at Nanshan for 2 years. I now take samples and run them through an ARL machine, I make sure the holder is alloyed and ready to be casted with the right recipe.
