Roles & Responsibilities

  • Designing the study for GMLR project and leading the project for brief period of 6 months.
  • Assisting Dr. Deepak Apte, ex-Director, BNHS with Environment and CRZ clearance projects involved in Environment Appraisal Committee along with State Wildlife board meetings.
  • Writing project proposals, mapping and maintaining GIS databases, Conduct Training Workshops for Forest Department, Biodiversity assessment, Community engagement through nature trails, lectures and awareness programs for School Children, Awareness & Sensitization Programs for local villagers.
  • Preparation of tiger conservation plan for Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve
  • a part of BNHS expedition to Changthang Cold Desert Sanctuary, Ladakh for understanding status and distribution of marmots with respect to
    impact of Climate Change.
  • Worked closely with BNHS-ENVIS for a brief period and attended several ENVIS meetings. Even given presentations to ENVIS headquarters at MoEFCC, New Delhi regarding GRIDDS program.
  • Since July 2021, appointed as BNHS representative on Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for planning & implementation of Data Governance Quality Index (DGQI)

  • Under MSTrIPES project; trained the forest department for various field surveys (patrolling), ecological methodologies (line transects, sign surveys), using the equipment and software required for data collection
  • Under the All IndiaTiger Census 2014-15, I was part of teams of Rajaji National Park, Namdapha Tiger Reserve, Manas National Park, Kaziranga Tiger Reserve, Corbett Tiger Reserve (Ramnagar Forest Division), Mukundara Hills Tiger Resereve, Satpura Tiger Reserve
  • The responsibility was to conduct ecological survey (line transects, sign surveys), scat analysis, mapping of collected data on satellite imagery, camera trapping, analyzing primary and secondary data, report writing.
  • Working with other NGOs in Northeast and was point of contact between those NGOs and WII.
