DNA - The Core Banking Solution

DNA is the first open, person-centric core banking platform built for collaboration. DNA was developed using Microsoft .NET Framework for a state-of-the-art core platform. The unique relational database design of DNA provides unlimited scalability and operational flexibility, along with real-time data backup from Oracle for unparalleled business continuity. DNA executes and stores transactions as they occur, providing consistently up-to-date customer, account, and transaction data across all channels.

Few of the recent enhancements were:

• FHSA: CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) reporting for new First Home Savings Account (FHSA) as an yearend report. Contribution and Distribution were to be reported in prescribed format.
• RL32: Revenue Quebec (province) reporting for FHSA accounts in their own prescribed format.
• Voltage: Applied Voltage encryption and decryption on PII (Personally identifiable information) fields in the database based.
• ForgeBackBase: Central 1 together with Backbase were developing new web and mobile based banking functionality. As part of Phase 1 of this development they required new ISO specifications to be implemented. Functionality also has to be implemented within DNA to allow it to initiate a new request to an AWS web service each time a back-dated transaction occurs to an account that has a Member Direct electronic agreement. Developed and implemented a process to acquire and utilize new temporary credentials every X hours, enhancing security protocol.

      Designed and scheduled critical tasks include: 

               Get New Credential Job: Automated the retrieval of System Temporary Credentials (STSC) via web service calls, integrating them into JSON headers for back-   

                                                        dated transactions.

               Get Backdated Transactions Job: Generated XML messages (WebServiceMsgQue) in CLOB format for back-dated transactions, ensuring compatibility with 

                                                        database standards.

                Send Web Service Job: Prepared and dispatched XML requests for back-dated transactions and STSC, managing responses such as COMP (successful), CRBP 

                                                        (retry batch process), and RAEX (retry attempts exceeded) using proc_CALLWEBSERVICE.

                 Retry Web Service Job: Implemented a retry mechanism by fetching and reattempting failed messages (MRBP) from MessageQue, employing 

                                                         UTL_HTTP.BEGIN_REQUEST for web service calls.
