  • Performing the payroll audits to identify risk that leads to either revenue impact or bad employee experience
  • Ensuring that the audit cover a wide span of scope based on the frequency of payouts, revenue impact, type of employees (Salaried/ Hourly) and employee region
  • Identifying the anomalies from various payroll files and reports downloaded/received from the internal and external stake holders and identifying the errors with distinct objective & parameters based on which reports are generated, anomalies are reviewed & errors are identified
  • Creation of tickets to track the progress of the review
  • Reaching out to the respective stakeholders (Employee Manager or HR) and the upstream teams (such as ERC teams, Leave Management team, on boarding team, Payroll Operations team, GERM team etc.) to validate the process and to identify any gaps or errors
  • Identifying the discrepancy and notifying the same to respective teams to take the corrective actions
  • Preventing the overpayment/Underpayment and making sure that the entire payroll process takes place in a proactive manner without any incongruity
  • Implementing the new audit ideas to make sure that the entire payroll process in on the right parameter subsequent to the leadership principles.
  • Working on BAC (Bank Account Control) Project for Global employees by Partnering with OE and Payroll OPS team to validate if the processed Pay is as per the records.
  • Working on a high level sensitive data “CEO Pay ratio” gather all Amazon global payroll data so that they can calculate the median employee pay in a given calendar year to ultimately calculate the CEO Pay Ratio which is the ratio of the CEO (Andy Jassy’s) pay to the median employee pay Partnering with OE team to automate the BAC for the Global regions.
  • Proactively identify optimization and automation opportunities aiming towards reducing/eliminating financial leakages and increasing controllership.
  • Collaborate with Technical teams/automation experts and fix the existing process gaps/implementing process improvements to reduce manual efforts.
  • Support operational & day to day activities and periodic checking of current process flow and ensure the process adherence in place. Work with a wide range of cross-functional teams (HR, CTK, ERC, DLS, DML, Payroll/GERM teams) to identify improvement opportunities and help drive the same. This includes driving a culture of operational excellence by mapping critical dependencies and controls in place. Work with a wide range of cross-functional teams to conduct business impact assessments (including new audit launches) , business critical services, define recovery objectives, and map critical dependencies. Identifying root causes for problems/pain areas within the process and leading the initiative of fixing these problems by conducting VSM Sessions, communicate opportunities for improvement and agree action plans.
