ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN COMMVAULT
- Adding a new backup server into the Commvault environment.
- Working knowledge of CommServe, media agents, and client configurations.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting backup issues occurring in the environment.
- Configuring VADP backups using the Vcenter server
- Tape Libraries, Media Agents and Commserve
- Discovering the VMs and configuring them for backups using the VADP method
- VADP file level restores for Windows VM servers
- Configuring Exchange backups
- Proficient on Commvault Client setup and different restore methodology
- Working on Commvault reporting skills, daily reporting, events, and error reporting.
- Working on archive retention and backup set.
- Working on Storage/Schedule Policy Concept.
- Working Knowledge on Netapp filer disk library and tape libraries
- Troubleshooting communication/functional issue against the Tape Libraries, Media Agents and Commserve
- Maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting the backup issues
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues for the tape Libraries
- Responsible for escalated issues on restore requests
- Reporting and escalating the unresolved issues
Roles and Responsibilities in Veeam.
- Having good knowledge in Veeam versions 11 and 12 versions.
- Having good knowledge on Veeam BNR architecture
- Having good knowledge on different types of Veeam BNR services and its service Management
- Having experience on install and maintain Veeam cloud connect server
- Hands-on experience in installing and maintaining Veeam BNR, Veeam One, and Veeam Enterprise.
- Having good knowledge on perform checks for capacity issues on backup server
- Having good knowledge on perform data restoration from backup
- Having good knowledge of maintaining and troubleshooting backup, replication, and backup copy jobs.
- Experience on all types of backups like incremental, full, forward incremental, forever forward incremental, reverse incremental backups
- Experience on perform recovery operations for VMs and physical machines, including 1-click restore, 1-click guest OS file restore and application Items restore (for Microsoft exchange mailboxes, Microsoft SQL server databases and oracle databases)
- Experience in Vproxy backups
- Experience on creating Veeam ZIP backups
- Having good knowledge on WAN acceleration
- Decommissioning of clients by taking a full backup with infinite retention, and adding new clients with customer approvals.
- Experience on importing backups like imported encryption, T-log, scale out backup repositories and exporting backups
- Hands on Experience on managing VMware Vcloud director organization and support their administrators with the Veeam self-services backup portal
- Experience on disk library and tape library administration and management
- Getting shift handovers from previous shift engineers and working accordingly
- Sending daily, monthly, and backup details, and reports to IT heads.
- Coordinate with Change Management and attending CAB Meeting for representing Change Approvals and executing the Task with respect to changes
