  • Development of oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) austenitic steel for high temperature applications;.
  • Production of ODS-RAFM powder (160 kg) through inert gas atomization and mechanical alloying for making fusion reactor plates.
  • Development and production of propellant grade Al powder through RF Induction Plasma; and supplying it to DRDO for field testing.
  • Hands-on experience with processing and characterization equipment:.
  • Vacuum induction melter: Fe-P, Fe-Mn, Fe-Mn-Si, alloys were made.
  • Powder making: inert gas atomizer (high purity spherical powders of Fe-Cr, Fe-Al alloys, Ti-Cu alloy), high energy ball mills, planetary ball mills, radio frequency induction plasma (ultra-fine Al powders).
  • Powder Consolidation: spark plasma sintering, hot upset forging and extrusion.
  • Heat treatment: vacuum or controlled atmosphere furnace.
  • Characterization: optical microscope, scanning electron microscope, hardness, and tensile testing.
