  • As Director of the global Sustaining Hardware Engineering team, I am responsible for solution delivery, and I act as the primary contact for stakeholders and project managers on critical issues. This role requires resolving product concerns across regions, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and driving alignment with company objectives.
  • I serve as a strategic link between internal teams and leadership, ensuring goals are met through initiatives like demonstrating the four-pillar model, and implementing 5S practices. My technical and operational roadmap includes transitioning new products to sustaining, integrating regional requirements, and minimizing site failures. I also facilitate collaboration to address organizational challenges, such as cost reduction and process customization, while maintaining team focus through automated dashboards that clarify daily priorities.

  • Led cross-functional teams to enhance hardware product reliability, resulting in significant improvements in customer satisfaction and product performance.

  • Directed the implementation of Hypercare support for the new product with a five-pronged strategy for handoff, site support, and training, updating the product, and addressing quality issues.

  • Vast experience with different types of motors and generators, along with international vendors, potentially identifying any major operational problems during the bid stage itself, depending on customer site requirements, and mitigating the same.
  • Evaluation of vendor technical quotations, preparation of a cost matrix, and ensuring the scope of supply while identifying potential cost-saving opportunities during the pre-bid stage.
  • Evaluation of vendor documents, drawings, datasheets, GA, schematic, and handling customer comments and technical gaps between offered equipment and vendor supply, and effectively mitigating the risks.
  • I also worked as an Electrical Application Engineer for the gas turbines and steam turbines jobs for two years, with three key jobs visualized and zero leakages.
  • Sizing of batteries as per the IEEE 485 and IEEE 115 standards for the most economic and precise battery operation in the power stations, and critical backup for the gas turbines.
  • Sizing of DC chargers and maintaining redundancy for the power system application with bus-tie and dual-redundant systems.
  • CTs and PTs sizing for the HV switchgear and generator, motor as per the application requirements (viz., metering and protection, etc.).
  • NER sizing for the synchronous generator according to IEEE standards for the generator protection.
  • Co-ordination with the project team for the mechanical, seismic requirements of the rotating equipment.
  • Maintaining on-time delivery of the generator or motor, along with FAT, and getting the documents approved by the client before shipment.
