MSC IN QUANTITY SURVEYING, Project name - An investigation into Modern Methods of Construction to address housing issues in Ireland in terms of efficiency, cost wise and by enhancing sustainability. The thesis analyzed the usage and benefits of Modern methods of technologies in Ireland's house building industry. Since the world has been modernizing, the traditional construction sector also needs to embrace its way of working in this modern world to remain with other modern industrial sectors. The modern methods of construction (MMC) aims to improve type of construction methodology, environmental performance, sustainability, business efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction and the predictability of delivery timescales. This modernization techniques will improve the efficiency and also will provide solution to the more affordable, quality and cost-effective housing in Ireland. The thesis investigated the current house building techniques and recommends modern techniques of house building which are successfully utilizing in other countries. The Thesis on "Modern methods of construction" made me aware of choosing the best and effective method of construction technique for the projects, thus lowering the cost and focussing on efficiency of the project.
BE IN CIVIL AND INFRASTRUCTURE, Project name - Rainwater Harvesting: A surface Runoff Conservation Technique. In the project we worked to build an effective and efficient way to store the runoff water. So, our system is simple and elegant we designed two-way line of pipes, one for water storage and another for water distribution. We targeted to catch Roof water just to store maximum possible water. Our idea was simple, every area has a point of depression where water is accumulated even though there are drains and recharge well, they have proven to be inefficient. Thus, water is stagnant over there for hours causing troubles for pedestrians, riders, and many others. Rather than waiting for water to slowly submerged and cause mosquitos place to breed we can accumulate it and as per over observation we know the scarcity of water. Rather than pumping water from ground at least during monsoon we though to provide a temporary solution. One might find this supply to be size of pea, but water really matters, and India is water stressed country. Don't think of it as saving water for buildings for a while in small amount but think of it as, saving of water cumulatively by societies and other mode this could add a big crunch to water budget.
