Through Couchsurfing, I stayed with locals rather than in hotels sharing home-cooked meals, attending underground music sessions, joining impromptu road trips, and having late-night conversations that offered unfiltered insights into different ways of life. In Vietnam, I immersed myself in the rhythm of bustling street markets at sunrise, learned the ritual behind traditional egg coffee, and explored how community and resilience shape everyday life. In Oman, I experienced the depth of desert hospitality  sitting in gatherings over dates and kahwa, driving through dramatic mountain landscapes, and spending nights under vast open skies where storytelling becomes a bridge between strangers. These journeys strengthened my adaptability, cultural intelligence, and confidence in unfamiliar environments.
