▪️This internship is focused on Transgender awareness a group counselling where I focused on raising awareness about the challenges faced by transgender individuals.
▪️I visited various colleges to conduct awareness programs, educating students and faculty about transgender issues and highlighted the problems transgender individuals face, including social discrimination and lack of acceptance, and discussed possible solutions to support them better.
▪️As part of the internship, I had the opportunity to meet and interact with a transgender individual, where I asked questions about the struggles they face, particularly in areas such as employment. Through the interaction, I learned about the significant difficulties transgender individuals encounter when seeking employment, including bias and lack of opportunities.
▪️These sessions included discussions on the social stigma, discrimination, and challenges that transgender people experience in their daily lives.
▪️ Developed skills in building rapport with clients, understanding their concerns, and providing a supportive, non-judgmental environment. This involve practicing active listening, empathy, and therapeutic communication techniques.
▪️ Received supervision from licensed psychologists, which allow me to reflect on your practice, get constructive feedback, and refine your skills.
▪️ Conducted Tamanna test on students that includes Language Aptitude, Abstract Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Mechanical Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, Spatial Aptitude and Perceptual Aptitude.
▪️ Went to Government school and conducted test on 10th and 12th class students and even done the scoring and done individual counselling of every student telling them the career options.
▪️ My communication skills likely improved, especially my ability to listen actively, reflect back what clients say, and ask the right questions to guide the therapeutic process.
