Turnip is a Series A funded mobile streaming and community platform designed for gamers and content creators. The company has secured $14.7 million in total funding. For creators, Turnip provides high-quality mobile streaming tools, including face-cam and overlays, with the capability to multi-stream to YouTube and Facebook. It drives fan engagement through private community clubs featuring low-latency voice chat, live events, contests, and shared media experiences like watch parties. Furthermore, creators can monetize interactions by running esports tournaments, masterclasses, and talk shows, leveraging built-in UPI donation links.
Here, as the first Growth hire in the 8-member early founding team, I single-handedly established the entire creator and partnership function. I served as the only dedicated Influencer Manager, designing the strategy that powered the platform's exponential scale from 0 to 10M+ users and was a key factor in securing Series A funding. Furthermore, I led end-to-end product marketing launches for most features, driving adoption through strategic paid campaigns and a curated creator content supply.
Achievements & Responsibilities
- Strategic Creator Lead: As the first Growth hire and only dedicated Influencer Manager, I built the function solo, reported directly to the Founders, and was promoted twice to Influencer Lead (managing a team of two).
- Content Engine Management: Orchestrated the scaled execution of over 1,000 influencer content pieces monthly (videos, events) by managing all agency and vendor partnerships to sustain massive content supply.
- User Acquisition : Designed integrated paid creator campaigns that delivered hyper-growth: 1K to 1M users in 6 months, and accelerated the next 1M acquisition in just 1 month. My channel's performance was a key factor in securing Series A funding, based on the successful scale from 0 to over 10M+ users.
- High-Budget Channel Management: Directed the strategic investment of over 1 Crore+ monthly in paid influencer marketing, consistently delivering 1-2 Million monthly user acquisitions needed to hit the 10M milestone in 1.5 years.
- Product Marketing via Content Supply: Led end-to-end product marketing for most features by leveraging creators as the primary content supply vehicle, driving feature adoption across the user base.
- Flagship Campaign Success : Secured millions of downloads via the explosive launch of the Turnip Community Clubs audio rooms. I led the end-to-end campaign execution, partnering with key figures like Total Gaming (30M subs), Mortal & 100+ creators to host interactive voice chat sessions where fans directly engaged with creators.
- Global Partnership : Built the creator function solo and established major budgeted yearly contracts with top gaming streamers globally across SEA, LATAM, and the Middle East, establishing a vast industry network.
- DAU Scale: Major contributor to scaling DAU to 1 Million by driving creator-focused campaigns for both the game streaming and audio tools.
- College Community Program: Established strategic partnerships with 100+ college cultural communitiesacross India, hosting daily paid online events (comedy, poetry, music) in the Audio Club Rooms, driving sustained DAU and community engagement.
- Brand Exposure via influencer events : Designed major online competitive events (e.g., Turnip Streaming Fest), where 100+ creators competed for "Streamer of the Year" through fan support, and led sponsorships for prominent industry events like Comedians on Board (featuring Samay Raina, Tanmay Bhat, Kusha Kapila, etc.), along with other major online events.
