I am Sanchit Fulzele, a dedicated undergraduate student pursuing Mechanical Engineering at St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology in Nagpur, Maharashtra. With a strong background in design and analysis, I am a member of the Formula Ashwariders Team. In this role, I serve as the CAE Lead, responsible for conducting thorough component analysis within our vehicles. Additionally, I take the lead in optimizing brake designs, leveraging iterative calculations to enhance safety and driving comfort. Furthermore, I have conducted thermal analysis on brake discs to improve the convection process. Proficient in SolidWorks and ANSYS, I possess strong skills in Mig Welding, lathe operations, and machining tool handling.

Brakes and Design Engineering:

05.2021 - Current
  • System Design and Integration: Designing the entire braking system, including the brake discs, calipers, brake pads, brake lines, and master cylinder. Ensuring seamless integration with other vehicle systems.
  • Analysis: Conducting analysis, including thermal analysis, to ensure the brake system can handle the stresses and temperatures generated during racing. Optimization: Iteratively optimizing the brake system for performance, weight reduction, efficiency, driver comfort and driver safety.
  • Thermal Management: Calculating and managing the thermal loads on the braking system during high-speed braking events. Designing cooling mechanisms to prevent brake fade and component failure
  • Material Science: Investigating advanced materials for brake discs and pads to enhance heat dissipation, reduce weight, and improve performance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that the braking system complies with all safety regulations and standards, including those specific to the Formula Student competition.

  • Structural Analysis: Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate the structural integrity of the chassis, suspension components, and other critical parts. Identify potential areas of weakness, stress concentrations, and areas requiring reinforcement.
  • Aerodynamics Simulation: Utilize computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to analyze the aerodynamic performance of the car. Optimize the design for improved downforce, reduced drag, and better overall aerodynamic efficiency.
  • Thermal Analysis: Ensuring that critical components, such as the engine, brakes, and electronics, operate within safe temperature ranges is crucial. The CAE Lead conducts thermal simulations to heat dissipation and thermal management strategies.
  • Safety Analysis: Identifying potential safety concerns and conducting crash simulations to assess the car's crashworthiness and occupant safety is also part of their responsibility.
  • Optimization: Based on simulation results, collaborates with the design team to optimize various components and systems. They propose design changes to improve performance, reduce weight, and enhance overall competitiveness.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare documents and reports to validate all components of the vehicle, including methodologies, assumptions, calculations, and results.
