Summary

Currently I am working on my doctoral thesis, titled - "Cognitive and Affective Aging : A Life-Span Perspective" from Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences, University of Allahabad, India under the supervision of Prof. Bhoomika Kar. In my thesis, I am trying to look at the relationship between cognitive and emotional aging in young, middle and older aged adults with respect to cognitive flexibility and attentional engagement/disengagement. I'm particularly interested in studying whether affective aging/ emotion regulation can act as a protective factor in cognitive aging? I have worked on- Investigating the association between gray matter volume changes and the effect of task-irrelevant emotional stimuli (positive/negative/neutral) on task-switching across lifespan. I have collected and analyzed (VBM analysis) a total of 112 (young, middle, older aged adults) MRI data so far. I am also looking into the Intrinsic connectivity within the resting state networks and the interaction between affect and higher order cognition as a function of ageing. This research provides valuable insights into the complex interplay between cognition, emotion and brain aging.

Scholarly professional with solid background in research, analysis, and academic writing. Adept at synthesizing complex information and contributing to collective knowledge. Strong emphasis on collaboration, adaptability, and achieving impactful results. Proficient in critical thinking, data interpretation, and effective communication.
