• Supplier Onboarding: Responsible for on-boarding good and capable suppliers for new business award and new suppliers through supplier qualification processes. i.e. SQA and Compliance audits (CoC).
• Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance indicators (KPI’s) e.g. PPM, OPM, PPAP FPY, PPAP On time, Responsiveness- Reg & CAR, Non-Repeat % & CAR-OPM.
• Supplier Development: Analyze and Identify suppliers for development through supplier improvement programs (SIP).
• Problem Solving: Mentor and guide team to resolve supplier issues through root cause analysis techniques i.e. Why-Why Analysis, DIRCS, SIP, Process Audits & ensuring continuous improvement in quality and delivery.
• Process Improvement: Work with suppliers to improve their production processes, reducing waste and improving efficiency, often applying error-proofing and other quality tools.
• New Product Development: Ensure that team follows NPD processes like PMR, PPAP Risk assessment & collaborate with suppliers in the development of new products, ensuring that manufacturing capabilities align with product requirements.
• Supplier Evaluation and Audits: Assess & Identify potential suppliers through KPI workshops for process audits, DIRCS to ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and production capabilities.
• Cost Reduction: Support engineering and procurement team to drive cost-saving initiatives through process improvements, material substitutions, or alternative manufacturing techniques.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Building strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Component Development (Casting-Ferrous & Non-Ferrous, Machined castings, Precision turn parts, Forging, Hose & Fittings): Led the design and development of processes, working with teams to add new techniques, improve designs, sharing past learnings to ensure right first time.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to suppliers on product specifications, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements.
• Drive Supplier Collaboration: Engage closely with internal teams and suppliers to facilitate new part development, ensuring technical feasibility (PMR) and adherence to specifications.
• Core Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
• Manage global supplier Activities: Oversee activities like, PPAP activities, handling quality claims by collaborating regional quality managers and with global & local suppliers to ensure timely submissions and continuous improvement in their performance.
• Ensure Quality Alignment & Supplier Strategy: Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Manufacturing department to align supplier quality requirements with internal standards and processes.
• Advanced Supplier Quality Engineering: Lead end-to-end supplier development projects, driving continuous improvement and ensuring successful PPAP submissions and customer satisfaction.
• Monthly Performance reviews: Conduct monthly performance reviews of each team members on their KPIs progress and provide inputs for improvements.
• Monthly SQLT meetings: Participate monthly meetings and present CoE performance.
• Sourcing Committee: Representing in weekly sourcing committee meetings from DPS segment for decision on supplier approval either for new business award existing suppliers or new supplier on-boarding.
