Project: 1.96MW - 97 & 3.4MW-140 Platforms

  • Acquire information for AEP (Annual Energy Production), aerodynamic requirements, number of blade sets to manufacture, timeline for customer fulfillment and structural capability of the blades to withstand the loads at windfarm sites.
  • Work with Conceptual design team & Manufacturing team to check the structural ability of the blade as per requirements laid down in first cut structural analysis.
  • Detail planning and execution from product structures side, by utilizing the framework from aerodynamic team and standard tools to demonstrate the blade good for prototype building, testing and finally acquiring certification.
  • Work closely with plant for any materials and process deviations and impact on S&OP target of the Bangalore & Vadodara Plants.

Awards & Recognition :

  • Impact Award: Based on Manufacturing plan utilization of procured materials with lower strength properties saved $30Mn worth raw material with a profit margin of $500k.
  • Applause Award: Receiving certification for 1.96MW - 97 platform.

  • Assess and Approve MRO level repairs for Airline Customers with OEM approval for airworthiness as RTE-1 stress signatory.

  • Complete ownership of design and sizing of composite sandwich and Monolithic regions of Inner Fixed structure and Aft Core Cowl.
  • Create detailed finite element models (DFEM) using HyperMesh and PATRAN and analysis using MSC NASTRAN.
  • Perform detailed joint analysis (Static and Fatigue) of IFS to interfacing components. (metal to composite joints)
  • Optimization of Inner Fixed Structures, by reduction in weight by 15% using Draw-Thin Philosophy.

Project: Development of Allowable Damage Limits (ADL) for IFS and Interfacing components

  • Coordinate with Aftermarket Chief Engineers to develop Allowable Damage Limits for A320neo and Boeing &87-8 Programs.
  • Simulate damages on both Metallic and Composite structures of Thrust Reverser to determine the life of the component based on fatigue analysis (HCF).
  • Re-Design Pressure Relief Door for A320neo TR as a part of SB (Service Bulletin) development.

Onsite Engagements:

  • Developed specification sheet for Core Splice coupon test, which later published in A320neo and A350XWB Material Dossiers.
