Experimental Investigation of Mechanical Properties of Castor Plant Stem Epoxy Composites Reinforced with PLA Natural Fibre Composite


  • This project focused on developing a sustainable Castor Plant Stem-Epoxy composite by reinforcing it with PLA (Polylactic Acid) natural fiber to reduce the reliance on synthetic materials. Using the hand layup method, the composite was fabricated and tested for mechanical properties such as tensile strength, compression strength, and impact resistance. The results demonstrated that the incorporation of PLA fibers not only enhanced the composite's mechanical performance but also contributed to a reduction in the environmental impact by utilizing renewable and biodegradable materials. The findings highlight the potential for these eco-friendly composites in applications within the automotive, aerospace, and other industries.
