I take care of a 20 year old girl living with her parents. She is handicapped. She has Walker-Warburg syndrome (WWS) a rare, severe congenital muscular dystrophy that affects brain and eye development. It's characterized by brain abnormalities like lissencephaly (a bumpy, irregular brain surface), hydrocephalus (fluid buildup in the brain), and eye malformations like microphthalmia (small eyeballs). The syndrome is caused by mutations in genes involved in the glycosylation of alpha-dystroglycan, a protein important for muscle stability and brain development. She has a feeding tube. Is not diaper or potty trained. I do routine daily care.
