Aim was to eliminate the high cost circuit breakers used in the testing of high energy spring drives to reduce the overall cost of the testing. Challenge was to develop the alternate product to replace the circuit breaker and provide realistic operating conditions to the high energy spring drive same as the circuit breakers. Designed the mass and damper system to mimic the circuit breakers. The setup is estimated to save testing cost up to 70 - 80%.
Aim was to adapt the ZVC in the high energy spring drive with suitable mechanism. Challenge was to develop the mechanism in the compact space with minimum possible moving parts. Designed the mechanism which fulfills all the requirements of the customers and IEC standards.
Aim was to reduce the variants of spring operated mechanism, manufacturing process optimization and assembly process optimization. Challenge was to identify the components to be harmonized, analysis of the failed components and unproductive time-consuming assembly activities. Necessary adaptation modification and new developments of components were made to minimize the overall variants, RCAs of failed components were done and made necessary manufacturing process modification and assembly process modification.

Circuit breaker is electric equipment used to safeguard the electric equipment during faulty electric conditions like short circuit. It also can be used to isolate the electric circuit during maintenance. The high energy drive is necessary to operate circuit breaker with maximum possible speed and in minimum possible time. The drive will operate by springs using its strain energy. There are five main systems to be design viz. spring, cam, damper, charging mechanism and latching mechanism.
Varnishing is method of insulating electric components by applying layer of insulating liquid on the component surface. If proper varnishing is not done, current may leak. In the machine Vacuum Impregnations process was introduced during varnishing activity. Implementation of varnishing machine semi automated the process and increased productivity three times.
