    a) Investigate individual alerts to analyze potential suspicious transaction/frauds involved using the SOPs recommended steps.
    b) Review previous similar pattern cases, assess each transaction in context of previous transactions and the client’s business/purpose of the account- review the client file, if necessary.
    c) Assess if anything unusual found, about the transaction/case based on previous history and then consider the relevance of the geographies of the remitter and beneficiaries of the transaction.
    d) Where there are grounds for suspicion, or a requirement for guidance in relation to an alert/case, then escalate to L2 in line with the procedures mentioned per client.
    • Create and maintain accurate and concise records of all investigations undertaken including details on the rationale for any decision made.
    • Seek to build an understanding of the profile of customers highlighted through the transaction monitoring alert process.
    • Assist with the preparation/inputs for/of departmental management information reports.
    • Provide advice and support the Bank’s business units on the identification of areas of risk as a result of transaction monitoring trends.
