Commodity Sourcing

• Developing and implementing key procurement strategies for assigned commodities and ensuring that plans are aligned with all contractual & statutory requirements
• Sourcing of the parts from different commodities including Plastic injection molding, Stamping, Fasteners, Rubber & electronics components
• Identifying and negotiating with vendors for procuring essential materials at reasonable price; developing long-term partnerships with local suppliers; undertaking techno-commercial evaluation of vendor packages including benchmarking, negotiation, finalisation of order, contracting strategy, release of purchase order/work order, etc.
• Monitoring quality of procured material through regular meetings and interactions with suppliers; developing vendors for better price, quality, delivery & increased volumes and identifying alternate vendors
• Keeping track of input price trends and approaching suppliers for negotiations & price revisions; undertaking price negotiations for all categories using ‘Cost Sheets’; negotiating with packaging development team & suppliers
• Establish long term price contracts with Annual price negotiations
• Identify & release the new suppliers as per the commodity strategy
• Source the new components as per the program targets (cost, quality and delivery requirements)
• Undertaking technical study of RFQ and evaluating manufacturing feasibility

Supply Chain Management & Program Purchasing

• Undertaking cost estimation for new projects with pursuit team for new programs
• Co-ordinate the Technical reviews and feasibility sign off with the suppliers before nomination
• Undertaking customer interactions for review of engineering feasibilities, BOM, packaging studies & detail design discussions; designing the product to meet customer requirement & translating the design model for a specific project using various tools; taking feedback of customers on newly developed products and bringing changes; implementing strategies for continuous improvement through quality concepts
• Support plant logistics team in case of supplies issues

• Obtaining quotes from different suppliers and negotiating with suppliers for final pricing
• Finalization of prices and initiation of development with suppliers
• Present the Sourcing Recommendations in PL meetings with Management for approval for making final sourcing approval
• Coordinating Feasibility Study PPAP activities with SQA Team for development of all new parts
• Coordinating with suppliers & obtaining YOY cost reduction for regular parts based on agreed business as a Commodity Buyer
• Explore the RFQ’s for prototype requirement and cost settlement for the same
• Keeping close track of R/M & Currency Fluctuation Data and settling R/M surcharges & currency fluctuation with suppliers as a Commodity Buyer
• Introduced ideas of cost reduction with VA / VE, resourcing and localization options
• Support plant logistics team in resolving the delivery related issues
