Work History

Plant Logistics Performance Manager

  • Cross-functional coordination with the logistics team, marketing team, and plant team for daily, smooth logistical operations.
  • Daily creation of clinker, as well as cement stock reports, production vs. dispatch reports, compliance reports, bag reports, etc., for both the primary, secondary, and zonal logistics teams, for proper monitoring of the current situation, and for better planning of the day’s operations.
  • Monitoring and analysis of various logistics KPIs, such as TAT, OET, OTIF, asset utilization, delivery performance, and EPOD, etc.
  • Monitoring of the above using various software, such as IBM Cognos, Microsoft Tableau, and IBM LCT, to identify the KPI outliers and the customers, vendors, market depots, etc., associated with those outliers in order to rectify them.
  • Frequent monitoring and maintenance of EPOD in order to maximize the use of digitization to get the e-stamping done for the vendors, by intimating and following up with the marketing team. This helps both the vendors and the organization by bypassing the hassle of manual stamping, thus facilitating greater use of paperless e-stamping, and saving the vendors the manpower cost of going to the vendor for the physical stamping of the invoice. Every month, the EPOD success rate is a minimum of 95%.
  • Especially in peak seasons, proper daily monitoring of clinker consumption percentages, percentage of depot dispatch, etc., is conducted. It is done so as to properly assess the cause of TLC changes.
  • Daily checking of MTD primary freight is conducted by me to ensure it does not exceed the target primary freight by checking dispatches done lead-wise and by truck type.
  • Frequent monitoring of GPS. This includes ensuring that 100% of all road dispatches are done by GPS-installed trucks, by adding GPS to performing trucks and removing GPS from non-performing ones. Also, based on GPS data, monitoring is conducted to ensure that no inter-depot unloading occurs, penalizing the guilty vendors.
  • Using GPS data, helping the head road organizer to identify existing destinations, or creating new destinations for both freight and lead rationalization.
  • Monthly creation of the plant performance report for showing the logistics team where shortfalls and excesses occurred. Similarly, the monthly creation of a primary impact file will show depot-wise, mode-wise, and dispatch type-wise data, where both positive and negative impacts occurred, so that the road as well as rail coordinators take note and try to improve their dispatch performance.
  • Monthly monitoring of rake dead freight is done by me to check whether full utilization of the rake was achieved.
  • The monthly creation of the savings file is calculated by me and shared with the plant and zonal logistics team to show which destinations, as well as what type of freight rationalization scheme, is most effective.
