IARI NEW DELHI

Summary

Dynamic researcher with hands-on experience at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, specializing in host-pathogen interaction studies using Transcriptomic data analysis, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing and in-silico protein-protein interaction techniques. Successfully identified the susceptible gene for SSR (Sclerotinia stem rot) and its interacting partner in secreted effectors of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (in silico). Committed in developing research strategies for sustainable agriculture and addressing global hunger challenges.

Work History

Research Experience

Indian agricultural research institute
New Delhi
01.2022 - 02.2025
  • Analyzed transcriptomic datasets and identified and characterized the most probable susceptible gene for Sclerotinia stem rot in Indian mustard.
  • Performed Brassica juncea infection with Sclerotinia sclerotiorum for the expression analysis and selected validated gene copies for genome editing.
  • Developed a CRISPR/Cas9 construct for genome editing in Brassica juncea to enhance resistance against Sclerotinia stem rot. Standardized the sgRNA cloning protocol in the laboratory.
  • Identified probable interacting protein partner of the susceptible gene via in-silico approaches for potential HIGS (Host-Induced Gene Silencing) application.
