Project: NGIS (Data Center Migration) and IT Sustainability

The primary objective of this project is to discover and analyse the Business/IT applications used by Sydney Trains and recommend a migration pattern or framework. This project is driven by two larger programs: NGIS and IT Sustainability. As part of NGIS, all applications used by Sydney Trains will be moved from the current data center to a new data center. IT Sustainability project is driven by Sydney Trains with an aim to consolidate and rationalize existing IT applications to a new target operating model.

Responsibilities:

• To define Enterprise Meta-Model for Sydney Trains
• Discovery of applications, system architecture and their dependencies
• Define Migration order after analyzing the data gathered.
• Analyse applications, understand current state, define target state, check for system compatibility with other dependencies and document
• Consulting with Architects, Group SPOCs and SME’s, existing service provider for defining best migration and transformation approach.
• Define and validate Deployment Architecture of Applications
• Define and validate Interfaces Communication Diagram
• To discover and identify gaps in current Deployment Process and suggest improvement/ best practices in process
• Coordinate with Offshore team
• Engaging Technical and Business owners and other relevant stakeholders for walk through and obtain their feedback
• Migration group creation, checklist creation, resource alignment
• Coordinating Knowledge Transfer between current and target vendors

Project: Enterprise Discovery of Integrated Applications

Performed application discovery and analysis of Integrated Applications across multiple environments. These environments are used during SDLC by IT initiatives and also support Enterprise Release Management.

The analysis was done in an AS-IS state of applications and environments to determine all dependencies and building an EA repository to do impact analysis across all projects.

• Azure Migrations: Migration of .Net Application on to Microsoft Azure using PowerShell scripts
• Local Database migration to Azure SQL
• POC for Microsoft Azure Redis Cache
• Create Site to Site VPN from Microsoft Azure to On-Prem site

• Responsibilities involve: (based on the project)
• Infrastructure automation across various technology stacks and with Windows operating system
• Aid team in setting up automated provisioning and configuration management systems in their environments
• Setting up of environments on demand and tearing them down when needed either on the cloud or physical infrastructure
• Application monitoring
• Look into how applications can be monitored better via various monitoring tools
• One click application deployments to help team evolve into Continuous Delivery mode
• Setup CI for old\new projects and monitoring them, Improve \ add new features to them with help PowerShell and Jenkins integration

• Dreamtrips Deal Flow:
• This project was similar to Groupon coupon system but related to travel
• Agents can add their own discount coupons that can be availed by customers while booking their tour
• I was involved in this from system architecture development till release of the project including requirement gathering from clients
• My major responsibility was to design data contract, Database table structure
• Payment Provider integration:
• I have integrated different payment providers with our application
• Internal application works as a gateway to route the request to different payment providers based on configurations
• My major responsibility involved translation of third party payment APIs which they provide to our application data contract
