Review and understand engineering/ licensor specifications, Process Engineering design basis, Process and Mechanical Data sheets, column GA/ TA drawings.
Work primarily in designing of column internals and study of bottleneck conditions, works on hydraulic and process guarantee of column internals, mitigate the uncertainties in columns due to inadequate internals design and proficient in troubleshooting.
Thorough understanding of refinery operations and behavior of Distillation column, Packed columns, Mist Eliminator, Condenser, Heat exchangers etc.
Column Internals product selection (Trays, random packing, structured packing, mist eliminators, feed pipe distributor, chimney collectors, Packed bed associated internals like liquid distributor and bed supports etc.) based on hydraulic loadings and calculations.
Design of process nozzles, and elevation and orientation of columns, TL-TL distance evaluation.
Material and energy balance calculations, line hydraulics. Reconfirm theoretical stages.
· Supervise various process variables such as Temperature, Pressure, Flowrate of process fluids, Flowrate of catalyst, within Design Limits.
· Perform field supervision and manage shutdown, start-up activities, and preservation of process plant.
· Quantitative and qualitative analysis, calculation of energy content of Fuel gases, Orsat analyst of fuel gas like coke oven gas, blast furnace gas, basic oxygen furnace gas.
