As product leader for IoT security (Device Intelligence), I report to the Sr. Director of Product Management who is responsible for a portfolio worth $100M in ARR.

I oversee a business of approximately $2M in ARR with about 15 logos and counting. Also, as part of my responsibilities, I assist with Cloud Firewall (CFW) which is a $50M+ ARR business for Netskope.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Define roadmap for IoT security with long term view that fits into Netskope vision of being leader in single-vendor SASE.
• Integrate IoT into SSE and SASE (SWG, CFW, ZTNA, SD WAN) policies.
• Create product requirements specifications or PRDs for new features and enhancements in IoT and CFW.
• Identify market segments for IoT which will open doors for Netskope or take advantage of existing presence.
• Complete cost analysis, business case, and margin forecasts for IoT integration with SSE and SASE.
• Identify new features that enable upsell opportunities for CFW.
• Monitor announcements from key competitors like Zscaler, Palo Alto, and Cato Networks.
• Travel to customer locations and conduct IoT and CFW product demos.
• Oversee internal engineering team and provide approvals for product design, UI/UX, demos.
• Decide and enforce release readiness criteria and manage customer expectations.
• Present quarterly update to CEO about state of IoT security and plan for upcoming quarter.

Achievements:

• In short span, were able to release to market integration platform that now allows partner vendors to publish device data to compliment Netskope Device Intelligence.
• Released to market the first iteration of integration with SD WAN with independent and flexible SKUs.
• Released to market Bandwidth Control for CFW, giving Netskope strategic capability to compete with Zscaler.

As part of the SecOps group responsible for the Trellix XDR strategy, I'm responsible for two products - ePolicy Orchestrator or ePO (On-Prem, SaaS, IaaS) and SOAR (Automated Response - On-Prem and SaaS). Together, this accounts for a customer base of roughly 40,000 individual customers. In addition, ePO manages roughly 50M endpoints in the field as of Jul, 2022.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Conducted multiple roadmap sessions at Xpand 2022 (Trellix customer and partner conference)
• Influenced product development teams to enhance products based on product enhancement requests and feedback from customers.
• Worked with engineering leadership to bring in investment and focus on required features.
• Conceptualized and deployed enhanced product features for major and update releases.
• Optimized implementation for use in marketing strategies to enhance adoption.
• Spearheaded collaborative efforts to bring first release of Trellix Automated Response (SaaS) to market with a small team.
• Curated and shortlisted product demonstrations for Customer and Partner Advisory Boards and annual Trellix conference - Xpand 2022.

Achievements:

• Launched first release of Trellix Automated Response (SaaS) which integrates with Helix SIEM.
• Created competitive pricing model for SOAR On-Prem and SaaS licensing which did not exist previously.
• Established go-to-market strategy for SOAR SaaS which would compete with Palo Alto, Splunk, SentinelOne, and Swimlane.
• Presented How to monetize playbooks for partners at Xpand 2022.
• Migrated largest MSSPs and partners from a legacy ePO SaaS platform to the latest MVISION ePO platform.

Directly managed a team of 12 and inditectly managed a team of over 20 engineers. Network Security Platform (NSP) is a network IPS product which held Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for 11 consecutive years for IDPS solutions.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Oversaw creation of test strategies for functional, system, and performance testing.
• Engaged with customers and architects to build deployment use cases.
• Ensured test coverage of NSM which consists of roughly 5,000 individual pages to cover over 160 different features.
• Conducted performance reviews for the team and decide annual bonuses, compensation, and RSUs.
• In the absence of a dedicated product manager initially, collaborated with customer, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Marketing, and Support teams to finish Engineering Commit.
• Coordinated architecture design reviews to identify customer requirements and engineering cost.
• Built a team of over 20 engineers and architects.
• Used tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Artefactory for development and builds.
• Made decisions on implementing features, taking into consideration project timelines, customer expectations, and available budgets.

Achievements:

• Development of McAfee Controller and Probe for AWS, Azure, and OCI.
• Timely delivery of Windows IDS and IPS, Linux IDS and IPS, securing cloud infrastructure across accounts and cloud environments, support for latest Windows and Linux platforms, optimum performance of at least 1 Gbps IPS throughput with Sensor auto-scaling for high availability and high throughput requirements.
• Supporting go-to-market strategies and sales enablement through making vNSP available on cloud marketplace through one-click deployment.
• Developed a consolidated test plan which spanned across all features and functionality of the management platform.

Manage a QA team of 7 engineers for the management platform of NSP, known as Network Security Manager (NSM), which relies on JavaScript, EXT-JS, JSP, Solr, and MariaDB.

Roles and responsibilities

• Oversee creation of test strategies for functional, system, and performance testing.
• Ensure test coverage of NSM which consists of roughly 5,000 individual pages to cover over 160 different features.
• Review feature test plans which the team creates and provide feedback.
• Drive adherence to Agile best practices in software testing.
• Track software testing lifecycle using tools such as X-Ray and TestRail Plan and delegate work for major, minor, and update releases.
• NSP sees one minor release per month and one major release every 18 months. We maintain 3 active versions in the field.
• Nurture and guide top engineering talent and enable them to succeed in their roles.
• Conduct performance reviews for the team and decide annual bonuses, compensation, and RSUs.

Achievements:

• Streamlined QA processes within team.
• Brought in hygiene in adhering to software QA lifecycle.
• Developed consolidated test plan which spanned across all features and functionality of NSM.

• Managed team of 5 technical writers responsible for technical documentation of Network Security Platform, which included software and hardware guides, Release Notes, and KB articles.

• Worked on creating technical documentation for Network Security Platform.
• Engaged with customers, sales engineers, and partners to understand their feedback about documentation.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Led team of 5 technical writers responsible for creating user documentation and training material.
• Key responsibilities include: Customer satisfaction through the development of user-friendly training and user documentation.

Achievements

• Set up knowledge sharing portals such as blogs, wikis, and user-forums.
• Completed introduction of interactive training suite with voice-over, visuals, and evaluations.
• Introduced SumTotal LMS where training content was stored and published.

• Worked in manufacturing support and design and later in creation of user manuals, service manuals, and installation manuals.

• Worked in hardware technical support of laptops and servers.
