As a Communication Officer currently stationed at the WHO South-East Asia Regional Officer, I spearhead the development and execution of impactful media outreach strategies in alignment with WHO's objectives. Collaborating closely with technical units and WHO Country Offices, I evaluate the effectiveness of our initiatives to ensure relevance and impact within the region. Crafting diverse media advocacy materials—from press releases, posters to video scripts and feature stories including around WHO events and flagship initiatives to create accurate and compelling communication of WHO's messages to both media and the public.
Additionally, I oversee the production of video content, maintaining quality and consistency across platforms. I also draft talking points for senior management and support in the rollout of the Regional Communication Strategy. Furthermore, I actively support the training and capacity building of the communications team in the Region.
Before joining WHO, I was a journalist with over two decades of experience. During which I have led teams in planning, gathering, and producing news for television and social media platforms. My special focus was to environmental, health, human rights, and climate change issues, and have also actively participated in various awareness campaigns and covered numerous UNFCCC Conferences of Parties (COP).
