Manage and maintain shipboard IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, printers, and communication systems.
Cybersecurity:
Monitor and maintain the cybersecurity measures for the vessel's IT systems.
Ensure compliance with international regulations on cybersecurity and data protection.
Communication Systems:
Troubleshoot and maintain communication mail equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for both internal and external communications.
Technical Support:
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to networking, hardware, software, and communication systems promptly.
Software & System Updates:
Manage and deploy software updates and system patches regularly to ensure up-to-date security.
Data Management:
Work with the captain and senior officers to maintain secure logs of operational data, navigation data, and communication records.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure the ship’s IT systems are compliant with national and international maritime regulations.
Equipment Procurement & Inventory:
Keep track of inventory related to IT equipment, ensuring that stock levels of hardware and supplies are adequate.
