  • Souva worked as the ‘Chief of Staff’ for the Global Service Delivery (GSD) Leader, managing an organization of ~4000 people across India, Poland and Portugal.

  • Some of his key projects were—Setting up Engineering Shared Services Center in Bangalore for a Leading US-based Medical Devices Company.
  • Led a team of 6 consultants to manage end-to-end set-up of the center, including strategy (cost-benefit and investment analysis, location assessment), design (process, organization structure, governance) and implementation (site selection, contracting and negotiation, entity incorporation, planning and program management of recruitment, site fit-out etc.).
  • Grown the account more than 5 times in terms of revenue (from $200K to $1.4M); identified multiple cross-sell opportunities in the account (Robotic Process Automation, 5-year Strategy Roadmap, Open Innovation etc.).

  • Managed end-to-end deployment of the RPA solution; this project acted as a ‘proof of concept’ and led to a much larger RPA transformation initiative across the bank.

  • Developed ‘good deal’ evaluation framework for ITO/BPO, Hardware and Software contracts; also defined a standard and comprehensive savings methodology to calculate savings arising out of any outsourcing deal and track the same.
  • Redesigned the end-to-end vendor performance measurement, reporting and associated governance framework for the client; in addition, designed a new CSAT framework and methodology that helped in capturing user feedback in a more efficient and actionable manner.

  • He has been a part of the overall growth story of the Shared Services and Outsourcing Advisory practice in KPMG.
  • He managed several key engagements and marquee clients within India and across the globe.
  • Some of his projects included—Setting Up a 700+ FTE Finance, HR and Supply Chain Shared Services Center for one of the Largest Telecom Player in Africa.
  • This multi-year and multi-country project was one of the key strategic win for KPMG globally; teams from India, South Africa, Portugal and UK were involved in delivering the project.
  • Souva led the end-to-end Service Management work stream, including design of Service Level Agreement and related KPIs, service management processes including SLA reporting, SLA management, governance and continuous improvement.
  • Independently managed pre and post-go live baselining and reporting of SSC performance based on the KPIs defined; worked as the main link between SSC and Opco.
  • Contact Center Outsourcing Strategy for a leading Telecom Player in Philippines.
  • Assessed current vendor management landscape and identified gaps vis-à-vis industry leading practices; re-designed the governance framework and re-defined the vendor management office with clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Assessed vendor portfolio and evaluated contractual provisions; deployed a 'champion-challenger' strategy to re-allocate volumes among vendors to achieve better performance and instil competitiveness amongst vendors.
  • Helped in re-negotiating the contracts with vendors to achieve better cost-competitiveness; developed a unique quantitative model to estimate client’s savings under different scenarios and thereby adopt right negotiation strategy.

  • Assisted the client in evaluating the existing contracts (around 10 separate contracts across various F&A processes) covering governance, processes, technology, service delivery capabilities, people and organization to identify key cost heads and value drivers that would yield potential savings.
  • Developed a unique model to compare contracts based on identified value drivers and quantify savings based on rate benchmarking, headcount rationalization, location consolidation, volume aggregation, efficiency increase and automation; the analysis identified potential savings of at least 30-40% on the current TCV.
  • Business Process Transformation for the Finance Shared Service Center of an Indian IT Major.
  • The client (revenue ~USD 6 billion) wanted to revamp its entire finance back-office function in order to reduce cycle time, improve efficiency and streamline the processes through automation.
  • Souva acted as the Lead for the Order-to-Cash work stream; analysed the existing processes, identified pain points and key gaps including duplication of roles and control gaps, and defined new enhanced processes as per industry leading practices.
