STUDY ON MECHANICAL & WEAR PROPERTIES OF Ti-6Al-7Nb BIO IMPLANT ALLOY

• Ti-6Al-7Nb is a bio implant alloy used to replace broken joints, teeth implants etc in the human body. This alloy can be subjected to wear & tear inside the body due to fluid friction. Hence, the amount of wear & tear that the alloy can be subjected to can be calculated using Pin on disc equipment with an artificial human fluid & a Universal Tensile Testing Machine. The results are observed to improve the strength of the alloy to stay intact for prolonged time inside the human body.
