- The scope of the project is to document the end to end data flow between various applications for GMT application and to check if proper controls are in place. Previously the bank did not have proper documentation of the entire data flow for various enterprise application and hence it was decided to form the end to end data analysis team. The work scope of this team is to create metadata data lineage, control documentation, Business Element Documentation and create sample data for End to End data testing.
- Analyzed transformation logic for physical data elements, created SQL queries to populate reports with sample data, and validated transformation accuracy through testing, submitting reports to audit team.
- Developed a comprehensive metadata lineage and controls sheet to better understand data relationships. Contacted application owner to understand data flow and establish lineage.
- Collaborated with business units and application teams to gather data and maintain up-to-date data lineage, supporting regulatory requirements such as GFCC and MIFID.
- Coordinating with business units to clarify any queries on the existing lineages/Changes and controls documentation. Creating various views in Collibra tool according to the documented lineages and controls.
- Review and validate the GFCC Lineage templates on quarterly basis. Each quarter we reach out to the respective application owners to confirm if the lineages documented are up to date. In case of any changes the new lineages will be updated in excel spread sheet and loaded in Collibra tool.
- During testing if there are any mismatch between the PDEs in the upstream/downstream application observations will be created in QC and bugs will be fixed accordingly. Once the bugs are fixed the ticket will be taken to closer.
