Selection of Source

• Identifying & selecting sources based on type of industry, capacity, existing customers, financial strengths, commercial aspects, cost, past Delivery & Quality performances etc.
• Supplier auditing for verifying all the above aspects and giving RFQ.
• Evaluating past records of Delivery performance, Quality performance, Cost reduction offered, Stock-outs, line stoppages, Quality systems etc.
• Co-ordination with product development team & Customer (if required) for initial approval processes such as PPAP etc
• Making discussions with all relevant areas and departments for finalizing the sources.
• Making enquiry with existing customers for supplier attitude, credibility, integrity before submitting company's confidential records, such as Drawings etc.
• Finalizing source after being verified all key aspects including cost, delivery, quality etc.

Vendor Development

• Listing out the processes, finding out critical dimensions and special characteristics, process flow diagrams, initial process & feasibility studies.
• Identifying the supplier for adequacy for manufacturing the part with required quality.
• Costing, negotiation and pricing with respect to cycle time, process cost, raw material cost, overheads, payment terms, ICC etc.
• Pilot lot receipt and inspecting for fitment, function and Special Characteristics (SPC).
• Evaluating suppliers' capability (by run @ rate) by on site audit during running of product.
• Verifying supplier process flow, control plans (prototype & pre-launch), Lab reports, raw material test reports, dimensional reports etc.
• Participating in outsourced new product design review meeting to ensure the old car issues
• Making newly developed wiring hardness tear down reports to ensure the overseas child parts manufacturing sources (drawing vs. actual)
• Getting PPAP/ISAR from supplier along with sample with all documents
• Preparing/collecting PSW, AAR, raw material test reports, SPC, MSA, AOI for PPAP.
• Submission of all PPAP / ISAR documents with pre-launch control plan as per the level required (Level 1 to 5)
• Determination of Raw material cost by means of market survey thro' RFQ etc and Machine hour costs by means of depreciation cost with fixed and variable costs.
• Conversion costs, overheads, scrap recovery cost, various kinds of parts such as Plastic injection molds, Rubber molds, forged (both hot & cold) parts, machined, sheet/sheet metals and electrical parts.
• Work out for commercial aspects such as Landed cost arrivals etc

Negotiation / Price finalizing

• Calling suppliers for negotiation on price finalizing of all sub assemblies and individual parts with competitive back-ups, cost work sheet, similar parts cost etc.
• Negotiating for price finalizing based on Customer target price, Volume, Delivery time, Quality accuracy, Existing share of business with the supplier, Type of supplier (whether monopoly etc.), strengths & Weakness of both etc.
• Releasing final price to the supplier before releasing confirmed order for trial.
• Projects handled for ‘New Verna‘, ‘New Creta‘, ‘Face lift - i20‘ and ‘Venue‘ of Hyundai projects.
• Participated as a multidisciplinary team (CFT) member in APQP.

Quality Systems

• Auditing for IATF & OHSAS 18001:2007 / EMS 14001:2015 systems as an Internal Auditor.
• Documents preparation, controlling and maintenance for all Materials department related IATF, EHS & OHSAS.
• Delivery Rating, Quality rating, Supplier Evaluation & Re-evaluation, Supplier Quality development, Master List of suppliers, Master list of documents, Department process flow, Supplier Audit plans etc maintenance for IATF
• Customer special status notification, Retention period, MR meets records & updates
• List of activities related to EMS 14001 / OHSAS 18001 preparation, initial study, Aspects / Impacts & Hazards / Risks study and rating
• Preparing OCPs/SOPs to monitor impacts & Risks beyond control things required, Department's objectives towards EHS/OHSAS and performance trends monitoring etc.
