Work Experience - EV, 2-Wheeler, 4-Wheeler

  • Acted as domain consultant (through Altair) in supporting Design, CAE simulations for different EV 2-wheeler customers – Ather, Bounce, Ridervier, Ingo Electric, Revamp Motors
  • Helped in process/methodology development in areas of Durability, NVH, Crash, MBD, Fatigue
  • Structural Durability simulations on various systems – Chassis/frame, Handlebar assembly, Swingarm assembly, side stand, centre stand, grab handle, side step, foot rest, saree guard.
  • Good experience in CAE simulation results correlation with physical test failures, field failures; CAE process improvements to reduce the gap.
  • Full vehicle fatigue with RLDA inputs derived from actual road testing of the vehicle.
  • Vibration Fatigue life simulations with PSD profile for different subsystems - Battery mountings, Motor mountings, Drive Controller mountings and other electronic hardware.
  • Process/methodology development for simulations on Wheel, Frontal crash, Side fall etc.
  • In-detail Battery simulations – Temperature prediction on battery pack, thermal runaway with Oorja s/w (AI/ML driven); CFD simulations – Full vehicle air-flow and temperature prediction on battery, MCU, Motor; Full vehicle Drag; Thermal simulation of battery pack alone; PCB & Electronics cooling of VCU – Temperature prediction on PCB at different IC/chip locations by using heat power as input.
  • Digital Twins /Machine Learning – Explored the methods for Battery range prediction, SOH estimation & RUL prediction, Temperature prediction.
  • Fatigue life cycles/ damage calculation of Automotive Chassis and BIW structural members by using RLD data from three different tracks (torture, off road, highway tracks) and field failure correlation (4 wheeler).
  • Topology, Shape Optimization of Planetary gear carriers in Automotive transmission assembly. Shell topology optimization, gage optimization of automotive BIW, Multi-disciplinary optimization (MDO).
  • Durability load cases for automotive closures and sub systems - hood, doors, quarter panel, fender, roof and deck lid.
  • Stiffness/strength load cases, durability for abuse loads of Automotive interior plastic trims- A,B,C-pillar trims, Grab handle, front & rear scuff, trunk scuff, quarter trims, IP/Cockpit, Floor console, Armrest, Storage box/Glove box
  • Crash/Impact Analysis - Truck cabin front impact, roof crush analysis; Seat belt anchorage analysis of automotive seating systems (FMVSS 207/210); Head impact, knee impact simulations on IP assembly, Deceleration Pulse, IP brackets strength for Airbag deployment.
