01.2019 - Current
- In this additional role, established the department as a hub creating a 2 year residency program in Urologic Oncology which enables young urologists to train in the department and exit as Uro-Oncologists. The department currently has the 6th Post Doctoral Fellow in training. The vision of this program was to specifically focus on training Urologists who wished to further their careers in Tier 2 Cities of the Country which lack presence of such specialists at present.
- Set up the department as an observation centre for residents-in-training of Urology across various boards (MCh & DNB) from several institutions in the country.
- Set up the Department as an Observation Center for Medical Appliances & Technologies Companies (Medtronics, Johnson & Johnson) & conduct short course observational workshops to Urologists from across the country.
- Set up Clinics in Urologic Oncology in 2021, an education initiative to train residents in Urology across the country to discuss & learn principles of disease management. The program involves lectures from multi disciplinary Specialty teams( Med. Onco, Radiation Onco, Oncopathology, Nuclear Medicine & Radiology) and case based discussions and conducted on a virtual platform, every last Saturday of the month.
- In the process of establishing the Department as a center for Intuitive sponsored Fellowships for Robotic Urology which is an Internationally Accredited Program for training Urologists in Robotic Surgeries and spans over a training period of 18 months. The First fellowship is expected to commence from June 2023.
- In the Process of establishing Disease Management Group( DMG) for Urologic Oncology which will further enhance optimal care to patients and also focus on personalized care approach to patients with complex urologic cancers. The DMG is also expected to provide free of cost "second opinion" facility to patients with urologic cancers across the country.
