Stacey Deckard

I work to build and execute all of the children's ministry events, curriculum, and activities each year. Since being employed, I have started a new backpack giveaway event, as well as a church wide Fall harvest event. I also coordinate our VBS event, Easter event, and our yearly children's Christmas program. Each week, my responsibilities include:

• Preparing, coordinating and distributing information about weekly schedule of activities and classes.
• Keeping program children safe and secure at all times with proactive monitoring strategies.
• Identifying and recruited potential volunteer workers.
• Scheduling and coordinating with all current volunteers to ensure readiness for teaching each week.
• Sourcing, modifying and preparing class curricula and targeted lesson plans based on subject matter requirements.

This is my 15th year as a kindergarten teacher. I am the team leader for my grade. I also work as the team lead over our school's PBIS committee. We have created a school wide behavior expectation and support system for all students and teachers. I love working with children, and feeling as though I am making a difference every day. Daily responsibilities include:

• Built positive relationships with students and families for safe, trusted learning support.
• Collaborated with colleagues to share resources, brainstorm ideas, and problem-solve challenges faced in the classroom environment.
• Enhanced classroom management by establishing clear expectations, rules, and routines.
• Implemented differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
