COMMUNITY SERVICE:

Always a front runner for community development by conducting workshops and brought awareness on National Adolescent Education Program (NAEP) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)., To promote, to protect and strengthen interpersonal relationships among students, carried out action research on mental Health and wellbeing of students of higher classes, to transform their stigmas into strengths., Conducted advocacy meetings and individual counselling sessions with parents and students of class IX & X to discuss, to meet future challenges in life by giving awareness on life skills., As a member of prevention of sexual harassment committee of NTPC, brought awareness in community and school children about sexual offences,, Only member, among the whole teacher community for “prevention, prohibition and redressal of Sexual Harassment of women at workplace committee” of NTPC, investigated complaints, related to sexual harassment of working women., Created awareness on local issues like conservation of energy, save water, save environment, tree plantation, drug abuse, at school and community level, by motivating and preparing the students to volunteer in various activities., As an Environmental awareness campaign, I/C, involved 290 students for Collecting 2000 KGs of old newspapers recycling of waste under the “Behtar India” program., Brought awareness among students about health and hygiene to protect themselves from endemic diseases, so that they can educate their families and community., Visited Orphanages, Old age homes and differently abled homes for serving them and to take care of their needs. Collected contributions for communal harmony., Practicing and teaching Yoga for personal health, wellness and relaxation for refining intellect beyond intuition.

Selected at national level from KV and worked for the Embassy of India school, Moscow to provide quality education of international standard by teaching Science and Biology, to the wards of the Embassy of India personnel and community of Indian origin.

SCIENCE EXIBITIONS:

  • Represented the Bhubaneswar region as team leader and escorted 21 girl students to AMC Lucknow for Jawaharlal Nehru National Level Science Exhibition. Presented 3 innovative exhibits for the National Science Exhibition at Lucknow as a guide and mentor.
  • Guided students for preparation of Models and Projects, to excel at various Regional and National level Science Exhibitions and got the certificates of appreciation.
  • With my guidance two exhibits were selected every year for National Level Science Exhibitions from the year 2000 to 2006, and from 2010 to 2018.
  • Organized Vidyalaya level exhibitions. Ensured maximum student participation by motivating them, as science subject committee in charge

SCIENCE CONGRESS:

  • Attended the 7th National Children Science Congress at Mapusa, Goa as a guide teacher.
  • Participated in Science Popularization activities in the science congress. Awarded with Citation cum Assessment in appreciation of the project by the chairperson of National Science Congress at Goa
  • With my Guidance, Science Projects selected for National level during 1999, 2000, 2001, 2010, 2011,2013, 2015, 2016 & 2018 and for regional level continuously from 1999 to 2018.

Innovative Practices / experimentation undertaken for greater impact of:

  • A. Teaching – Learning Process with special emphasis on Value based education. Motivating students by giving talks in the morning assembly. Made value-based Education is an integral part of the Teaching Learning Process.
  • B. Computer Aided Teaching Teaching students through PPT presentations and ICT. Encouraging students to make various PPT’s, presentations, debates and seminars by collecting information from the internet.
  • C. Self-prepared models / teaching aids: On Infertility, Malnutrition, Nutrition games, Model on Organic fertilisers and chemical fertilisers, AIDS, organic farming, Model on Chakras and Meditation, Exhibit on boat without sailor and many more.
  • D. Improving the reading habits of Students: Through interdisciplinary approach developed interest in various subjects and made them collect information through referring books, internet etc.
  • E. Administrative Work: Served as In Charge Principal whenever required
  • F. Any other work: Conducting periodic diagnostic and remedial tests, evaluation, discussing their area of weakness with students. Appraisal about wards to parents Special attention and assistance given to reduce the no. of detainees and enhance the performance of:
  • Gifted Students: Worksheets with level wise questions on different topics, Diagram based worksheets, HOTS, videos, extra reading material, value-based questions given.
  • Weak Students: Regular remedial work given. Evaluated their work, lots of chapter wise tests conducted repeatedly till further improvement with the help of ICT Parents counselling to discuss their weak areas.
  • Students with special needs: Trained to improve their language skills, and to clear their concepts. Repeated Remedial and diagnostic tests taken. Brought them to the mainstream along with others with special efforts.
  • G. Integrated all the Key points of NEP into the lesson plans, for promoting Hybrid learning during covid time.
  • H. To bring uniformity in classroom teaching, to meet the needs of each learner, empowering the staff, for varieties of activity conduction.
  • I. Promoting level wise questions, for each chapter from classes III to X, to meet the ELO’s, with set weightages and blue prints.
  • J. Promoting E-portfolios for collecting student evidence and reflections, through promoting rubrics for assessments, and evaluation.

SPECIFIC CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS:

  • A. CCA: Conducted14 innovative activities along with celebrating14 important days with max student participation as CCA coordinator in 2008-09 and 2011-12.
  • B. Discipline: As a discipline I/C maintained school discipline and decorum.
  • C. Games & Sports/ Adventure activities: As a coordinator, associated in conducting regional sports and swimming meet during 2008-09 & 2012
  • D. Science Club Activities/ Exhibitions: As a team leader and guide teacher, escorted students to Science Exhibition from 1999 to 2017 at various venues across India and participated in deliberations. Guided the science students to prepare innovative projects and exhibits every year, by always promoting them to Regional and National level participation.
  • E. As a guide teacher could motivate two students to participate at the National Science Congress in 2010-11 and one student to participate at the National Science exhibition held at Kolkata in April 2012. Motivated 2 students to get 2nd position in cluster level quiz competition held at KV, 39 GTC Varanasi on 02-02-2013.
  • F. Guided many students for the Inspire award scheme.
  • G. Guidance counselling: Escorted students of Grade XI for guidance and counselling workshops many times. Provided guidance and counselling to children of Grades X, XI and XII.
  • H. Life skills: Guided and trained the students for slogan writing competition of 5S and by trained them for outside competitions. As a 5S team member and I/C, maintained the Ganga block as per norms, with record maintenance.
  • I. Social Service/ Community service: Funds raised through campaigns for Flag Day in 2011 and for National Foundation for Communal Harmony in 2012.

  • Attended the 7TH national science congress at Goa. Participated in science popularisation activities in the Science Congress. Got the certificate of appreciation as Guide and Escort teacher. Awarded with citation cum assessment in appreciation of innovative projects by chairperson of the National Science Congress at Goa.
  • As academic counsel and value education I/C closely monitored the Academic activities, performance and progress of students.
  • As examinations I/C conducted repeated diagnostic and remedial tests to improve the overall results of Vidyalaya as per CCE.
  • Brought awareness to students about Adolescent education programs and clarified their doubts periodically. Arranged special talks for better awareness.
  • Through workshops enlightened the entire staff about NAEP at KV II AFA, Dundigal and Golconda Hyderabad and various other schools.
  • Conducted guidance and counselling sessions and prepared many students to enter Medical Stream by micro monitoring their academic schedules.
  • Passed Praveen and Pragya exams with Distinction to improve communication skills in Hindi (conducted by Ministry of Home affairs, Govt. of India)
  • For community Welfare activities, motivated the students for recycling, and reducing wastes. As a coordinator involved students to serve different types of trusts.
