Regional Commercial Head – Western UP (North Zone)

  • Looking after accounts & commercial affairs of Western UP Region for Cement consisting of 12 Cement Depot and 22 RMC Plants accorss UP1 & Delhi region and 1 BPD Liquid Plants.
  • Driving the financial strategy & commercial excellence and profitability & revenue growth for the region by providing strategic direction.
  • Managing budgeting & forecasting and variance analysis to ensure commercial risk & opportunities are highlighted. Providing insightful reporting & analysis to support decision making.
  • Analyzing cost & profitability in 3 verticals i.e. Cement/RMC/BPD, deriving exceptions with financial impact for action and ensuring effective internal controls to avoid any revenue leakage.
  • Evaluating all proposal received from logistics in relation to new godown opening/revision of handling rate/godown rent/ Secondary freight/ new rake point etc. for cost effectiveness. Monitoring Logistics cost, optimum resource utilization and managing logistical controls.
  • Analyzing the profitability and commercial feasibility of the proposed RMC & BPD plant including manpower, operational cost, RM cost, etc. by considering various permutation combinations and complexity of the model chosen into consideration.
  • Management and optimization of Working Capital through for the region.
  • Regular market survey for competitor's prevailing rates. Driving the collection of Market information on pricing trends, discount schemes, capacity addition and share the reports with respective stakeholders for suitable internal decision making.
  • Formulating the schemes for all business verticals for achieving strategic objectives. Discuss the exceptions with other Functional Heads, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure accuracy in disbursement of the scheme.
  • Control the negative contribution/high lead sales for all 3 business verticals and thereby driving the regional profitability.
  • Facilitate the internal/statutory audit for regions, depots and RMC/BPD/Cement plant, by ensuring all relevant data, system adherence status, any other information as required is provided as per audit scope
  • Identify, assess and monitor potential risks related to internal control, credit, vendor performance and suggest remedial measures to mitigate the risk. Implementation and adherence of credit policy & Credit control of all dealers of the Region.
  • Ensuring effective negotiation for various expenses i.e. Raw Material, CRM, office rent, gift godown rent, capex expansion etc. at regional level for cost effectiveness
  • Implement Strategic Vendor Management for long term contracts of RMC/BPD business and recommend business model best suited for the location. It has given edge to the organization by getting Raw Material at most competitive rate as compared to market leading to market competitiveness and increase in profitability of RMC.
  • Review of Trial & GL balances on periodic basis to ensure accuracy and resolution of pending issues. Ensure smooth Month/Quarter/Year end closure activities and Finalization of books of accounts.
  • Monitor adherence to SOPs by periodically verifying the process followed across Region, Cement/RMC/BPD plants, depots, godowns.
  • Drive the automation journey for the region with right identification for necessary automation for bringing in efficiency.
  • Monitor and Review all the legal cases and timely action for filing of cases like summary suite, winding up notices, civil/criminal proceedings, etc. for the respective region. Appear in court hearing to represent the organization as and when required.
  • Ensure prompt responses by the team on all GST related queries of internal & external customers for adherence to GST regulations across region.
  • Recruit, develop and manage a strong team to achieve business objectives, provide functional expertise and mentoring to teams and build strong talent pipeline. Provide guidance to the team and ensure the proposed corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
