In my role as a Senior Quality Staff member at Nutanix, I worked on the features listed below and responsibilities.

• Prism Backup and Restore Test Design and Test Automation.
• Message bus test design and test automation.
• Performance benchmarking of categories' CRUD operations for v4 APIs.
• Handle on-call/DIAL issues.
• Participated in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
• Performed root cause analysis on identified defects in order to determine corrective action plans.
• Analyzed customer feedback to identify areas of improvement in product quality.
• Coordinated cross-functional teams during release cycles to ensure timely completion of tasks within established deadlines.

At Huawei, I was a Lead Architect for QA of NAS Protocols, with responsibilities for the quality deliverables of NFSv3 and NFSv4.1 for Huawei Ocean Store Distributed NAS Storage. Below are the features that I led and delivered.

• NFSv3 and NFSv4.1 Protocol Conformance.
• Distributed data cache and metadata cache.
• Read/Write performance benchmarking for NFSv3, NFSv4, and NFSv4.1
• Contributed 100 plus tests to opensource pyNFS test suite.

Key Accomplishments:

• Received the Future Star Award for timely and quality delivery of data and metadata delegation features, aka the distributed cache management module.

During my tenure at EMC/Isilon, I qualified the Data Migration feature, aka isi Vol Copy, which involved the design and development of test planning, automation, and partner engagement with VMware for the certification effort of VAAI/VASA storage plugins.

• Test design, test automation, and testing of the isi_vol copy feature.
• Certification of VMware VAAI plugin for Isilon storage arrays

Key Accomplishments:

• Received a Bronze award for record completion of VMware Storage plugin certifications within a week’s time.

During my tenure at NetApp, I worked in different testing verticals from Functional Testing, Interoperability Testing and System Testing. Predominantly different versions of NFS protocol Primary goal was to qualify the NetApp Storage NFS Server stack with various NFS clients, like RHEL, SuSE, Solaris, AIX, HPUX, along with hypervisor stacks of VMware ESX, Citrix Xen, and Red Hat KVM. Across different hardware platforms, like Cisco UCS blade centers, IBM rack servers, and Fujitsu blade servers.

Weekly and bi-weekly partner engagement with VMware and Citrix, respectively, represented NFS in those meetings, highlighting the ESX issues, early resolutions, planning, and preparation for upcoming ESX releases and features, and identifying the ONTAP release along with the product manager for qualification. Cross BU engagement with TME, SRE teams, and cross-functional teams.

Building test setup and test configurations, hands-on knowledge of NFSv3, NFSv4, and NFSv4.1/pNFS protocol and features.

• Reviewed existing test cases and developed new ones as necessary to cover all aspects of system functionality.
• Tracked software bugs and detailed information regarding findings and resolution techniques in documentation.
• Documented, triaged, and managed defects in software and worked with developers to facilitate timely resolutions.
• Defined acceptance criteria for various projects in order to meet customer expectations.
• Developed automated scripts to reduce manual testing efforts and improve accuracy of results.
• Collaborated with developers throughout the development cycle to ensure that features are tested thoroughly before deployment.
• Tested functionality, performance and compliance of each product against design specifications to maintain strong development standards and high customer satisfaction.
• Participated in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

Key Accomplishments:

• Came up with the idea of 'Project Easy Kerberos,' an engineering efficiency initiative to automate complex Kerberos configuration, which reduced the testing cycles by 40%. It was a delight to field engineers who had to spend days setting up the Kerberos environment at the customer site.
• Filed NIR (NetApp Innovation Report) for aggregate-level de-duplication.
• Uncovered quality issues in VMware-ESXi/NetApp-NFS interop testing; one such issue was that the VMDK was getting corrupted, impacting virtual machine integrity.
• NFS IO performance characterization across protocols; worked with the Linux client team to qualify the first version of NFSOmeter, an open-source community edition.

At Cisco, I was responsible for functional and regression testing of features like lawful intercept, Layer 3 routing protocols, and ATM scalability testing.

Key Accomplishments:

• Developed a tool called DOD (Data Overflow Detection), which could detect heap memory overflows in Cisco IOS. This tool helped identify a good number of critical bugs during the trial testing phase and was later mandated across the organization to plug this into all automation.

At IISc, I was responsible for developing a module called the Intelligent Agent (web crawler) for the Intrusion Detection System (IDS), which builds a signature database from cert.org.
