I-STAR Educator (4 times)

I have been selected four times as an I-STAR Teacher.  This is an honor bestowed by a student.  Students in the top 10% of their class are invited to apply for I-STAR recognition.  Within the application process, the student must write an essay about the educator who has had the most impact on them as a student and person.  Three students are chosen as I-STAR students and their chosen educator is considered an I-STAR recipient, as well.  While I have been nominated several times over 34 years, four of the students who nominated me were chosen as I-STAR students. I hold this honor in high esteem because it comes from a student.  That, to me, is the ultimate validation of my life's work.
