Flower Species Recognition Using Machin Learning, Machine Learning, The objective and the advantages of this method are that it is easy to implement and that it is based on the well-known theory of Fourier analysis. Can easily be normalized to represent shapes independently of their orientation, size, and location; thus easing comparison between shapes. In SIFT is used to detect corners for classification. Propose to improve leaf image classification by utilizing shape context and SIFT descriptors in combination so that both global and local properties of a shape can be taken into account. It discriminates leaves with similar overall shape but different margins and vice versa. It accurately classifies both simple and compound leaves and it only keeps the most discriminative information and can thus be more efficiently computed.
